A friend is someone who likes you...

or even a white mouse

A tree can be a different kind of friend.
It doesn't talk to you, but you know it
likes you, because it gives you apples...
or pears... or cherries...
or, sometimes, a place to swing.

A brook can be a friend in a special way.
It talks to you with splashy gurgles.
It cools your toes and lets you sit
quietly beside it when you don't feel
like speaking.

The wind can be a friend too.
It sings soft songs to you at night
when you are sleepy and feeling lonely.
Sometimes it calls you to play.
It pushes you from behind
as you walk and makes
the leaves dance for you
wherever you go,
and that's how you know
it likes you.

Sometimes you don't know who
are your friends.
Sometimes they are there all the time,
but you walk right past them
and don't notice that they like you
in a special way.

and move very slowly,
and look around carefully,
to see someone who smiles at you
in a special way...
or a dog that wags its tail extra hard
whenever you are near...
or a tree that lets you climb it easy...
or a brook that lets you be quiet
when you want to be quiet.
Sometimes you have to find your friend.

Some people have lots and lots of friends

and some people have quite a few friends...

but everyone...
everyone in the whole world
has at least one friend.
Where did you find yours?

So this is Christmas...

We had a late breakfast here
drinking lots of tea from this lovely chinese tea pot
surrounded by flowers
and christmas everywhere

I think this is my favourite day of the year...
Nothing is expected from you today. I am staying at home, doing nothing except whatever I fancy doing.
Have a very Merry Christmas!!

December Journal Pages

I finally had some time again -to relax and play in My Book.

I'm in love with making collages right now...
The page below has gone thru some changes (I was not happy with how it looked before). I posted a picture earlier; do you see the difference? I still want to add a few more elements to it, but I let it rest for now...

(The naked woman drawing is one I had laying around; it is made by Ingunn. If only I knew how to draw like that...)

Glimpses....

24x19cm mixed media drawing/collage on cotton canvas
I started this mixed media piece months ago, and finally got to finish it today.
I am hoping to get my etsy "up and running" by january 2009. I guess this piece will show up there, if I don't get any other plans for it in the meantime. (24X19cm)

This time of the year -again!!

and I am so stressed; I don't know where to be and what to do. I want to do all things at the same time, and still I seem to get almost nothing done (and my neck is so so tense)....

Am not yet finished christmas-shopping; and my money is getting short (I'll kjust have to relax with that christmas shopping for a few days). Am now trying to do some cleaning, removing some "tons" of dust in the living-room. It feels good doing some things, but I am not getting rid of the stress!!
Some advice would be cooool :)

I just came by for a quick post, to let you know I haven't forgotten my blog.
Have been working crazy-crazy the last two weeks.
Can't wait for christmas to come with time for doing cozy cozy things. Then I'll have time for posting pictures, playing with paints in MY BOOK etc.

I made a collage thingy on a small stretched canvas the other day. Can't wait to show you the picture; but that will have to wait till after christmas....
So not much time for art journaling these days. I still have some older pages I want to post pictures of. Am really not happy with some of the journal pages I posted in my last post.
But I decided to post them anyway. Nothing in life is perfect all the time; and that's how it should be. And I'm soso happy it's like that. Perfect can be pretty boring, right?
